Neeraj Chopra wiki bio: Neeraj Chopra is an Indian sportsperson who competes in Javelin throw. In August 2021 he was obtained second rank internationally by the world Sports. He is the Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Armed force. Neeraj Chopra lives in a family with 17 members in Haryana Panipat. In a meeting he said that his family, his uncle Bheem Singh and his town people urged him to take his career in Javelin throw.

Neeraj Chopra – Early Life

Neeraj Chopra was brought into the world by Satish Kumar and his better half. He comes from a meddle class family background living in Khandra town of Panipat district. His dad is a farmer and his mom is a housewife. He has two sisters.

Neeraj’s curiosity in javelin throw occurred by chance when he saw Jaiveer Choudhary practising Javelin Throw at the Panipat arena. He would consistently visit Panipat arena to work  on his fitness and lose pounds of weight as he was fat and pudgy. Little to his knowledge about the javelin throw until he gave his hands a shot the game. His ability was spotted by the seniors at the arena and propelled to genuinely take up the game.

Neeraj had confronted trouble in travelling out from his home to the arena because of the absence of public transport in his town, all things being equal, he would take lifts from the passing vehicles for a 16-17 kilometres excursion to arrive at the preparation ground. He later moved his base to the Games Nursery at the Taluka Devi Lal Arena in Panchkula due to the absence of legitimate infrastructure in the Panipat Arena.

In 2016, he enlisted in the Indian Armed force and is right now filling in as Junior Commissioned Official with the position of Naib Subedar. Neeraj is an alum of DAV School in Chandigarh, Punjab.

Neeraj Chopra’s career instantly took off after he made his debut in the domestic circuit at the 2012 Public Junior Sports Rivalries and won his most memorable Gold medal with a record throw of 68.46 metres. With this accomplishment, he enlisted in the public camp for better training and exposure.

Neeraj’s global career success came in 2016 when he won his most memorable first international Gold medal at the South Asian Games in Guwahati. In 2017, he won 2 Silver medals and a Bronze medal at the Asian Grand Prix Series held in 3 distinct cities, Jinhua, Jiaxing in China, and Taipei in Taiwan. Soon thereafter, he made his IAAF Diamond League debut and completed seventh with a throw of 83.80 metres.

In 2018, he won the Gold medal at the Sotteville Athletics meet in France, followed by one more Gold medal at the Savo Games in Lapinlahti, Finland.

In March 2021, Neeraj broke his national record by throwing 88.07m at the Indian Grand Prix Meet in Patiala.

Neeraj Chopra made his global international debut for India at the 2013 World Youth Championships, where he completed nineteenth in the qualification round held at Donetsk in Ukraine. At the 2015 Asian Championships, he completed ninth in the last of the javelin throw events in Wuhan, China.

In 2016, he won a Silver medal in the javelin throw at the Asian Junior Championships. Soon thereafter, Neeraj got the spotlight when he set the world junior record by throwing 86.48m and secured the Gold medal at the World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

At the 2017 Asian Titles, he won the Gold medal by throwing 85.23m at Bhubaneshwar in Odisha. Around the same time, he competed at the World Athletics Championships in London however neglected to win any medals as he completed fifteenth in the capability round.

In 2018, Neeraj secured the Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast in Australia and in this manner turned into the sole Indian javelin thrower to achieve the accomplishment at the Commonwealth Games. At the 2018 Asian Games, he broke his own record of 86.48m by throwing javelin 88.06m and won the Gold medal in the javelin throw in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In January 2020, Neeraj Chopra booked his Olympics berth in Javelin Throw at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics after he threw 87.86m at the Athletics Central North East held in Potchefstroom, South Africa. This will be his Olympics presentation after he missed out the possibility addressing India at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
